I’m a creative based in New York City, currently residing in Astoria, Queens. Through a winding career path I’ve uncovered a fact that I can no longer deny: I’m ultimately passionate about creating content that inspires and empowers. I originally moved to this city for a degree in journalism. But what lay dormant for a few decades was a love for photography. The interest was first sparked in a photojournalism course I took in undergrad, but it wouldn’t be until I purchased a DSLR in 2015 and became immersed in the creative community of Instagram that I became hooked. I began to document my fascination with nature and science on Instagram under the hashtag #thepursuitofscience.
My skills in photography are largely self-taught and I’m constantly seeking to learn and improve. Without a doubt I am most inspired by the natural world, which is reflected in many of my images. Specifically, I’m interested in how we shape the environment around us, and how it shapes us. I’m currently exploring this concept within New York City but hope to expand my scope through travel.
Much of my animal photography was captured during my time working for the Wildlife Conservation Society, some of which has been featured in the Bronx Zoo’s Instagram. I’ve done freelance photography for the Astoria Park Alliance, Red Monkey Theater Group, and M&M Performing Arts Company.
I’ve recently worked at New York Road Runners and Central Park Conservancy as a content creator and social media manager. I am currently open to new creative work opportunities, within or beyond New York.
